Dagestan: Deputy Eldar Yaraliev killed in shootout

Eldar Yaraliev, a Deputy of the Magaramkent District Assembly, was killed in a shootout at the crushed stone factory, his two colleagues told the "Caucasian Knot".

According to one of the Deputies of the Magaramkent District Assembly, the shootout, during which Eldar Yaraliev was shot dead, broke out near the village of Azadogly, Magaramkent District.

"The shootout occurred at the crushed stone factory. A group from Derbent arrived at the factory; first they quarrelled with Elmar Yalaliev, Eldar's elder brother, and beat him up. Then, shootout broke out, and Eldar Yaraliev was killed. The younger brother of Elmar and Eldar was wounded; he is in the hospital," a Deputy of the Magaramkent District Assembly told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent on condition of anonymity.

Another Deputy of the District Assembly told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that Yaraliev brothers are cousins of Farid Akhmedov, the head of the Magaramkent District. Another casualty "was a member of the group from Derbent, who came to the crushed stone factory," said the source.
