Tbilisi: special troop's fighter dies after special operation

Power agents have completed their special operation in Gabriel Salos Street in Tbilisi, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports from the scene. The special troop's fighter, who was wounded there, has died in a Tbilisi hospital.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that during the above special operation in Tbilisi, some suspects of involvement in terrorist organizations were blocked in an apartment of one of the residential houses. In the course of the operation, one serviceman of special troops was wounded, the police have reported.

The tenants of the besieged building were evacuated; and at least two apartments therein were burnt down as a result of the onset fire.

Now, the special operation is over, the armoured vehicles are being removed from Gabriel Salos Street.

The end of the operation was announced by the State Security Service of Georgia, the edition named "Jam-News" reports with reference to the "Rustavi-2" TV Channel.

According to the edition, a source from the Tbilisi hospital said that doctors were unable to save the special troop's fighter, who had been wounded in the head; and he died after a surgery.
