Sochi: coordinator of Navalny's office beaten up

Tonight, Konstantin Zykov, the coordinator of Alexei Navalny's office in Sochi, was attacked at the entrance to the office. Zykov has noted that the police accepted his application very reluctantly.

According to his story, today, at about 6:00 p.m., a man attacked him from behind not far from the entrance to the Navalny's office, located in Roz Street. The attacker took him by the left shoulder and twice punched his face, the activist told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"I did not see the attacker's face. He was dressed in all black, with a hood on his head. After the attack, he ran to the other side of the street and disappeared," said Konstantin Zykov. He added that he immediately went to the police to write an application.

"Blood was dripping from my nose; but they refused to accept my application for almost two hours," Konstantin Zykov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent from the police on duty unit on the phone. A female-employee of the on duty unit, who answered the call of the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent shortly thereafter, said that Zykov's application had been "accepted long ago". The receipt-notification, which was eventually given out to Zykov, indicates that his application was accepted at 8:00 p.m. – the exact time, when the correspondent made a call there.
