He noted that the rally was sanctioned for November 10, with the declared number of 1500 participants.

According to the police, Metallurgists' Square now hosts some 1000 people; about the same number has been reported by Alexei Ulyanov, an activist and a member of the Human Rights Council of Volgograd, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports from the place of the rally, adding that volunteers counted all who passed to the square through two entrance metal detectors, and reported about 1800 people present in the square.
