Boris Stomakhin complains about custody conditions in SIZO

Boris Stomakhin, sentenced for a post about the terror acts in Volgograd, complained that he was deprived of basic necessities in SIZO (pre-trial prison). This has been reported today by his advocate.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 11, the court tightened the regime of detention for Boris Stomakhin, kept in a penal colony in the Perm Region, and replaced the serving of a sentence term in a high-security penal colony with the detention in prison. On September 21, the court of appeal upheld the decision.

On April 20, 2015, Boris Stomakhin was sentenced to three years of imprisonment for posts about the terror acts in Volgograd, which occurred on December 29-30, 2014. The court recognized that those posts justified terrorism.

In the SIZO, warders seized from Boris Stomakhin his food, watches, nail clippers, needles, threads, and shaving foam and "tore toilet paper." This has been told today to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by advocate Roman Kachanov, who on November 7 visited the sentenced man in a SIZO in the town of Kizel in the Perm Region.

According to Roman Kachanov, Boris Stomakhin is being kept in a separate cell and has already been brought to disciplinary responsibility. "He was placed to ShIZO (dungeon or punishment cell) for three days for his alleged refusal to keep his hands behind his back when he was walking along the SIZO accompanied by a warder. He moves with a cane. According to him, he was holding a cane in a hand, and it was difficult for him to get his other hand behind his back," said the advocate.
