In Armenia, kindergarten director reports details of hostage taking

In Armenia, a man suspected of hostage taking in a kindergarten threatened to use a knife to kill a child to take revenge on his former wife by blackening her conscience with the child's death. This was reported by Rosa Vardanyan, the director of the kindergarten. The man has been arrested. He is accused of attempted murder and hostage taking, reported Sona Truzyan, the advisor to the chief of the Investigating Committee for Armenia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 30, a man armed with a knife captured the kindergarten "Manushak" in the city of Armavir in Armenia. The criminal held a three-year-old child and several kindergarten employees hostage. He wounded the kindergarten director and a teacher. After the negotiations the police managed to free the child, while the criminal tried to injure himself.

According to Sona Truzyan, the man came to the kindergarten and demanded from her former wife to go out to talk to him. The woman refused, and then the man took out a knife and tried to force her out into the yard.

Then the man took a three-year-old kindergarten child hostage and demanded to set him free and give him the opportunity to meet his former wife.

Kindergarten director Rosa Vardanyan, a grandmother of the man's former wife, noted that Lilith had been rescued from her former husband by her uncle.

The father of the three-year-old child, who was at that time in the kindergarten, twice lost consciousness.

Rosa Vardanyan has noted that Argam had earlier also threatened Lilith and the police were aware of the threats, but did nothing.
