Zhirair Sefilyan's advocate calls on Armenian General Prosecutor to resign

At a court hearing held on October 27, in the Zhirair Sefilyan's case, the judge announced the completion of questioning the witnesses and the beginning of a new stage to study the evidence, reported the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The "Caucasian Knot" has informed that Zhirair Sefilyan, the leader of the movement "100th anniversary without regime", has been accused of organizing arms trafficking, plotting mass riots and preparing to seize the police building in Yerevan.

At a court hearing, public prosecutor has noted that "the rallies held by the 'Constituent Parliament', led by Zhirair Sefilyan, called for open disobedience and violence in contradiction with the Constitution and the laws of the country."

Advocate Tigran Airapetyan has protested that in case if the rallies of the "Constituent Parliament" were illegal, the authorities would have banned them from the very beginning. "The 'Constituent Parliament' was engaged in political activities," emphasized the defender.

Besides, advocate Tigran Airapetyan has requested the resignation of the General Prosecutor of Armenia. "I do not want to live in a country where 300 armed people can make a revolution at any moment, and the General Prosecutor continues to occupy his post. In fact, Zhirair Sefilyan is accused of being the leader of an armed grouping of 300 people. Where are all those people? Why do law enforcers not find and identify them? Solve the case or file a challenge," said Tigran Airapetyan.
