Law enforcers detain commander of Rosgvardia fighters shot dead in Chechnya

In Chechnya, law enforcers detained a commander of a unit from the National Guard of Russia (Rosgvardia), in which an officer shot and killed four of his colleagues on October 23. This was reported by sources from the law enforcement agencies.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 23, in the Chechen village of Shelkovskaya, Marat Gadjiev, Senior Lieutenant of the National Guard of Russia, opened fire at the barracks and fatally wounded four of his colleagues. He himself was killed. The tragedy in the Shelkovskaya village was provoked by the emotional reaction of the officer whose wife was evicted from the unit, reported Zolotov, the head of the National Guard of Russia, on October 25.

The colleagues of Marat Gadjiev believe he could be provoked by his complicated relationship with the commander.

Today, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has been informed by a source from the law enforcement agencies of Chechnya about the arrest of the commander from the National Guard unit stationed in the Shelkovskaya village.

"Law enforcers have detained the commander of the National Guard unit, in which Marat Gadjiev, who shot and killed his colleagues, was serving. Military investigators question the detained commander," reported the source. He has also added that the officer has been detained this morning.
