ICRF accuses Dagestani policemen of using torture
Investigators have opened a case against policemen from the Akhvakh District, after a local resident complained that his son had been tortured by electric current.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Magomed Alavdinov, a resident of the dwelling settlement of Karata of the Akhvakh District, wrote in his application that on July 6, his 42-year-old son Mukhat Alavdinov was summoned for questioning because of his use of marijuana. Policemen tortured him, trying to knock out a confession. The prosecutor's office has demanded from the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) to check the Alavdinov’s application.
As a result of the check, investigators found out that policemen were fabricating the case.
"On July 6, 2017, in Karata, Akhvakh District, employees of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), by using physical violence and an electric shocker to a 42-year-old local resident, forced him to confess of making a narcotic drug, after which they took him from the police station into the territory of the rural settlement "Karata village" of the Akhvakh District, where under the video camera the victim was forced to illegally make a narcotic drug – the hashish oil," says a release posted on October 12 on the website of the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the ICRF.
As a result of the check a criminal case has been opened against the policemen.
