Kadyrov Foundation plans to spend USD 800,000 on Myanmar refugees

Until the end of 2017, the Akhmat Kadyrov Foundation plans to render humanitarian aid to Myanmar Muslims, who fled to Bangladesh trying to escape persecutions in their country.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 10, Ramzan Kadyrov, in spite of his earlier statements, announced that "now, Rohingya people needs humanitarian aid, not solidarity actions". It happened after 139 participants of a non-sanctioned action in support of Myanmar Muslims were detained in Saint Petersburg.

As reported by Ziyad Sabsabi, the Senator from Chechnya, the Foundation has purchased clothes, foodstuffs and building materials to be sent to the refugees. Until the end of the year, the Foundation plans to spend about 800,000 US dollars to help Rohingya people, the “Kommersant” writes.

The Akhmat Kadyrov Foundation controls most of the major projects implemented in Chechnya. According to official data, in 2014-2015, the Foundation’s balance made almost 1.6 billion roubles. Every month, all the Chechen budget-funded servants must transfer about 10% of their revenues to the charity fund.

According to the “Kommersant”, over 500,000 Rohingya people have fled from Myanmar.
