Armenian authorities extend benefits for villagers near Azerbaijani border

The Armenian government has approved a bill on extending benefits to residents of pre-border Armenia villages on utility bills until 2021.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in March, Armenia exempted, for a year, residents of 25 pre-border villages from the land tax and partially compensated their gas, electricity and irrigation water bills.

The extension will cover 37 settlements with the population of 56,000, the “NEWS.am” reports.

According to David Lokyan, Minister of Territorial Administration and Development of Armenia, the above benefits are designed to facilitate the living in the pre-border settlements, the "ARKA" News Agency reports.
