Mikhail Saakashvili claims forged signature in application for Ukrainian citizenship

Mikhail Saakashvili has claimed that he did not fill out and did not sign an application form made public by a representative of the Petro Poroshenko's Bloc, by which an MP justified the decision of Petro Poroshenko to deprive the former Georgian President of his Ukrainian citizenship.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 26, a week after the visit of the Ukrainian President to Georgia, it became known that Mikhail Saakashvili had been deprived of Ukrainian citizenship. The decision of the Ukrainian President was explained by the fact that Mikhail Saakashvili had provided the false information in the application for a Ukrainian passport.

On July 27, Vladimir Aryev, an MP from the Petro Poroshenko's Bloc, published in Facebook a part of the above application, which, according to him, was signed by Mikhail Saakashvili.

On July 29, Mikhail Saakashvili responded to the publication and claimed that he did not fill out and did not sign the application form published by Vladimir Aryev. The former Georgian President accused the Ukrainian authorities of forging the document and demanded an immediate graphological examination of the signature on the published application form.

"I am shocked! I have just looked at a copy of the application form, published with encouragement from the presidential administration by one of the leaders of his faction. The President deprived me of citizenship on the basis of the paper. So, with full responsibility I assert that this is not my signature and the application form was filled out not by me!" Mikhail Saakashvili wrote in his Facebook.
