Eyewitnesses report detentions of Makhachkala mosque-goers
In Makhachkala, about 15 Muslims were detained after a night prayer at "Tangyim" mosque. This was reported by Imam Nigmatulla Radjabov. According to one of the believers, some detainees were released after questioning.
The detentions took place immediately after the prayer, and law enforcers were waiting for the believers coming out of the mosque, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Nigmatulla Radjabov, Imam of the mosque.
According to him, the believers were detained on the pretext of checking their IDs, and when some of them produced their IDs, the law enforcers refused to check them at the place and referred to the need to check the IDs only at a police station.
Taghir, one of the detainees, reported that at the police station, the detainees were asked about their personal data and data of their relatives.
According to him, the procedure of questioning was faster for those detainees who had been earlier put on the police prevention registration lists.
Earlier, on June 3, according to eyewitnesses, law enforcers detained up to 30 believers of the mosque located in General Omarov Street.
