In Sochi, developer Denis Nikulin taken into custody on demand defrauded shareholders

On the demand of 30 defrauded shareholders, who were recognized as victims, a Sochi court arrested Denis Nikulin, the director of the LLC "Real Estate Gallery". The defendant and his lawyer Roman Ponomaryov intend to appeal against the ruling.

A message with a request to draw attention to the situation with the sale of apartments in houses intended for demolition was received by the SMS-service of the "Caucasian Knot". "More than 60 persons were defrauded. Law enforcement bodies are inactive," wrote the author of the message.

In February, it was reported that a Sochi developer was selling apartments in three houses in the Mamaika neighbourhood, and in Fadeev, Poltavskaya and Volzhskaya Streets, which were prescribed for demolition by court order. One of the real estate agencies offered the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent to buy an apartment in one of such houses.

The sale of apartments was on until the very Nikulin's arrest, said shareholders.

According to investigators, Denis Nikulin, a 40-year-old native of Tyumen, is accused of 31 episodes of especially-large frauds.
