In Chechnya, six violations revealed during USE

In Chechnya, during the first examinations at the points of the Unified State Examination (USE), six violations committed by senior schoolchildren were revealed. This was reported by the Ministry of Education of the Chechen Republic. Local residents describe the atmosphere of fear in the course of the exam, and they are also concerned over the reports of a suicide committed by a schoolboy.

"The violations include two cases of attempts to use crib sheets, an attempt to use a mobile phone and three cases of use of calculators. The latter is insignificant, and in the first three cases of violations, examinees were removed from the auditoriums," said an official of the Chechen Ministry of Education.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the USE rules became tougher, together with control by teachers and observers, schoolchildren noted.

In total, this year, in Chechnya, more than 12,000 people pass the USE. For schoolchildren of 11th forms, the examinations in the Russian language and mathematics are mandatory.

Last week, in Chechnya, there were reports that in the village of Bachi-Yurt in the Kurchaloi District, a schoolboy of the 11th form committed suicide, since he failed to complete assignments for the USE on mathematics on May 31.

Parents of schoolchildren voice their concern for their children. Many of them advise their children not to perceive a failure at the state exams as a tragedy.

Senior schoolchildren also note that observers often disturb them during the exams.
