Gukovo miners state disruption of payment schedule by authorities

Miners of the "Kingcoal" Company have refuted the authorities' information that they had almost completely received their salary debts; they think about a new hunger strike.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since the spring of 2016, "Kingcoal" miners have been regularly protesting in Gukovo and Rostov-on-Don, demanding repayment of their salary debts and issuance of ration coal.

The main part of salary debts to "Kingcoal" employees accrued from April 2015 to June 2016 has been paid off, Vasily Golubev, the Governor of the Rostov Region said on May 22 at his meeting with miners.

The miners refute the authorities' statements about the almost complete repayment of salary debts; and many questions remained unanswered, said Tatiana Avacheva, a member of the initiative group of "Kingcoal" workers, who was present at the meeting.

According to her story, as envisaged by the "road map", in May-June miners should have received 120 million roubles of their debts. "May is already over, but nothing has been paid out, except for 5 million of financial help; and as a result, it turned out that the 'Regional Development Corporation' has only 5 million roubles left. After this information, the initiative group of 17 persons left the meeting," Tatiana Avacheva has explained.
