Domestic gas explosion is the fourth in Volgograd since 2011 (+video)

For almost 6.5 last years, Volgograd saw five explosions of domestic gas, including four in apartment houses. Since January 2011, these explosions killed 10 persons and injured other 51.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the collapse of a section of a four-storey house has occurred today in the Sovietsky District of Volgograd. An explosion of domestic gas was announced as a provisional reason.

According to preliminary data, the collapse killed three persons and injured 11, nine of whom were hospitalized.

According to calculations run by "Caucasian Knot", since 2011 five explosions of domestic gas have occurred in Volgograd. Thus, on January 17, 2017, a gas cylinder went off on Komsomolsky Overpass in Volgograd, when workers made some construction works on the bridge. Two of them were hospitalized.

On December 20, 2015, a house section collapsed from the second to the ninth floor of No. 47 inKosmonavtov Street in Volgograd: five persons were killed and 12 wounded. A gas explosion in one of the apartments was officially declared to be the reason.

On February 14, 2012, an explosion in the "Bellagio" café caused various-gravity burns in 25 people. According to investigators, the fire was caused by a gas heater, not intended for installing indoors.

On January 10, 2011, a propane cylinder, used at setting stretch ceilings, exploded in an apartment of a nine-storey apartment house in Volgograd. The explosion caused a fire that killed a couple and their daughter; their neighbour was hospitalized with poisoning with products of burning.
