Mass deaths of dolphins registered in area of Novorossiysk
In April-early May, the Environmental Protection Prosecutor's Office discovered 68 dead dolphins in the Black Sea off the coast of Novorossiysk.
A check has been launched on the fact of mass deaths of dolphins. Several bodies of dead animals have been directed to an autopsy to find out the circumstances of their deaths, reports the website of the Prosecutor's Office for the Krasnodar Territory.
The media reported that on May 3, residents of Novorossiysk found on the coast dead bodies of dolphins with gunshot wounds. One dead animal was found near the village of Durso, and another near the sea station of Novorossiysk. The animals were presumably killed from a spear gun. However, according to the Prosecutor's Office, no injuries inflicted with weapons were found on the bodies of dead animals, the "Kuban-24" reports.
