FSB: 183 KBR residents involved in hostilities in Syria and Iraq on militants' side

183 residents of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) are involved in the hostilities in Syria and Iraq on the side of terrorist organizations. This was reported by the chief of the FSB Department for Kabardino-Balkaria. The above figure is eight persons higher than it had been earlier reported by the KBR's Minister of Internal Affairs.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 28, at a meeting of the Parliament of the KBR, Igor Romashkin, Minister of Internal Affairs for the KBR, reported that, according to the police, 175 residents of Kabardino-Balkaria were involved in the activities of international terrorist organizations in Syria and Iraq. According to Igor Romashkin, since the beginning of hostilities in Syria, 99 criminal cases have been initiated against residents of Kabardino-Balkaria, 59 people have been put on the international wanted list and 80 on the federal wanted list.

Today, at a meeting of the antiterrorist commission, Oleg Usov, the chief of the FSB Department for the KBR, has reported that at present, there are 152 local residents in the KBR who have served their sentences for terrorist and extremist activities.

"All of them are under control of operative investigators," reported Oleg Usov as quoted by the "Interfax-South".
