Defence of Zhalaudi Geriev for sixth time demands to retract refusal to institute case of kidnapping

Advocates of Zhalaudi Geriev, a "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, sentenced for illegal possession of drugs, have appealed to the Investigating Department for Chechnya of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) with a request to retract the sixth refusal to institute a criminal case against the people who kidnapped Zhalaudi Geriev. The appropriate motion was filed after a meeting of the advocates with General Sokolov, the chief of the ICRF's Investigating Department for Chechnya.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Zhalaudi Geriev claimed that law enforcers kidnapped him and planted drugs to him. On February 15, it became known about the fifth cancellation of the refusal to institute criminal proceedings against the people who kidnapped Zhalaudi Geriev.

On April 4, after the pre-investigating check resumed on February 15 at the complaint filed by Zhalaudi Geriev about his kidnapping, threats and drugs planted to him, a decision was again made to refuse the institution of a criminal case against law enforcers involved in the incident, reported advocate Alaudi Musaev.

According to the defender, after a conversation between the advocates and the chief of the ICRF's Investigating Department for Chechnya, he "promised to respond in accordance with the procedural legislation."
