Thirty-eight terror act victims still in Saint Petersburg hospitals

After discharge of two patients injured by the explosion in Saint Petersburg’s metro, 38 people still remain hospitalized. Two of them are still in grave condition, Anna Mityanina, the Vice-Governor of Saint Petersburg, has reported today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the explosion in Saint Petersburg occurred on April 3. After the death of one of the victims in the hospital on April 12, the death toll of the terror act reached 15, including the alleged suicide bomber. According to Ms Mityanina as on April 14, there were 40 victims in hospitals, including two in grave condition.

She added that in the evening on April 14, one of the victims was discharged from the hospital, and last night another one was transferred to the outpatient treatment.

Thus, to date, 38 victims remain hospitalized.

The explosion, which is treated by law enforcers as a terror act, was triggered in the stretch between the stations "Sennaya Ploschad" and "Technological Institute". It could be prepared by Zalim Shebzukhov, one of the leaders of North-Caucasian militants or his supporters, said the experts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot". Two persons are being searched on suspicion of involvement in the explosion. According to the State National Security Committee of Kyrgyzstan, a native of Kyrgyzstan, a Russian citizen, is suspected of organizing the explosion.
