In April 3-9, two persons fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

During the week of April 3-9, 2017, in the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus, two people perished; no information about any wounded was received. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

Both casualties were employees of power structures of Ingushetia.

Attacks on law enforcers

On April 8, at about 1:30 a.m. Moscow time, in Promyshlennaya Street of the town of Malgobek, unidentified persons shelled, from automatic firearms, two DPS (road-and-post service) inspectors, who were moving in their car. As a result of the shelling, the road policemen received various bodily injuries and died in hospital. The police car caught fire. The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) or Ingushetia put Khasan Khatsiev, Bekkhan Soltukiev, Mikail Cherbizhev and Magomed Bekbuzarov on the wanted list on suspicion of killing the DPS inspectors.

Detentions

On April 3, policemen searched a household, located in Kotiev Street in Malgobek. In the course of searching the house of a local resident suspected of illegal trafficking in arms and ammunition, a grenade and an improvised explosive device (IED) were found and confiscated. The search was conducted within the inquiry into the criminal case on illegal circulation of arms and ammunition. The owner of the household was taken to the police station; and a pre-inquiry check is carried out against him.
