Charges filed against two activists detained in Sochi

In Sochi, two participants of the action held by Alexei Navalny's supporters will appear before the court. Protocols on administrative violations have been drawn up against them, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, many cities of Russia host actions held by supporters of oppositionist Alexei Navalny. Preparations for the rallies were launched after the Alexei Navalny's Foundation to Combat Corruption had released the film "He is not Dimon for you", dedicated to the "secret empire of Premier Dmitry Medvedev." Participants of the actions demand to investigate the information announced in the film.

"Konstantin Gudimov is charged under Article 5.61 'Insult' of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Alexander Popkov, an advocate of the detainee.

According to him, the police imputed to the detainee the phrases "Putin is a thief, Medvedev is a thief." "However, the word 'thief' is not an insult and does not fall within the scope of the above article. And we will argue that in court," noted Alexander Popkov. And he continued: "An administrative protocol has been drawn up which will be submitted to the court, and Konstantin Gudimov will be summoned there." According to the advocate, the detainee himself has been released.

"Activist Vitaly Nebieridze is charged under Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation 'Violation of the established procedure for organizing or holding a meeting, rally, demonstration, march, or picketing," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Mikhail Benyash, an advocate of Vitaly Nebieridze. Meanwhile, according to the advocate, Vitaly Nebieridze did not commit any illegal actions.

The advocates of the detainees have told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that all the time when the detainees were kept at the police station in Gorky Street, about 60 activists were standing in front of the police station building and chanting: "Release the innocent people!”
