South-Ossetian SC not to reconsider decision on Eduard Kokoity's claim

The decision of the Supreme Court (SC) of South Ossetia on the claim filed by Eduard Kokoity, the former president of the republic, is not subject to reconsideration. This was announced by Ilona Khugaeva, the chair of the Court, and Alan Tekhov, the head of the presidential administration. According to Ilona Khugaeva, today, the dialogue between representatives of the authorities and supporters of Eduard Kokoity will continue.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 14, the Supreme Court of South Ossetia upheld the decision of the Central Election Commission (CEC) to refuse registration of Eduard Kokoity as a presidential candidate. On March 19, Eduard Kokoity organized a meeting with the demand for the resignation of the President of South Ossetia.

In South Ossetia, the presidential election is scheduled for April 9. Earlier, an agreement has been reached on the meeting of Eduard Kokoity and Leonid Tibilov on March 15. However, no meeting took place.

On March 19, Ilona Khugaeva announced that the decision of the South-Ossetian SC on the claim filed by Eduard Kokoity was made based on indisputable evidence and would not be reviewed.

Alan Tekhov, the head of the presidential administration, believes that the Court will not hold a new hearing on the claim filed by Eduard Kokoity. Meanwhile, Alan Tekhov has also noted that the representatives of the South-Ossetian authorities will continue the dialogue with the supporters of Eduard Kokoity.
