"Electrozink" is preparing for modernization

During 2017, the Open Joint-Stock Company (OJSC) "Electrozink" plans to prepare a base for the modernization of equipment, said the press service of the company. Works are expected to start in February.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in 2016, the North-Ossetian authorities agreed with the owners of "Electrozink" to stop the environmentally harmful production of lead. This year, they plan to commission two sets of new equipment that should improve the production of sulphuric acid.

For many years, residents of North Ossetia kept holding actions against the work of the "Electrozink" – one of the largest non-ferrous metallurgy factories in Russia.

"By 2018, we plan to prepare the base for modernizing the equipment: technical retooling with the reduction of costs, increase productivity and minimization of environmental impact," said Igor Khodyko, Director General of the "Electrozink".

The investments are expected to reach over 6 billion roubles; and in 2017 the factory plans to spend about 360 million roubles.
