NAC states involvement of persons killed near Kizlyar in attacking policemen

The two alleged militants, killed today in the village of Vperyod, Kizlyar District of Dagestan, last December took part in the attack on policemen, when two law enforcers were killed, the Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today the village of Vperyov was put under the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime. According to law enforcement sources, two militants were hiding in one of the houses; they were killed in the assault. The casualties were pre-identified as Rashid Asulbekov and Ruslan Magomedrasulov, members of the "Khasavyurt" grouping of militants.

The NAC's statement reads that the casualties joined the armed underground in October 2016. As members of the "Khasavyurt" grouping, they were engaged in extorting large sums of money from entrepreneurs; then the money was used "to finance terrorist activities in Northern Caucasus."

Besides, as the "Interfax" reports referring to the NAC, the militants, who had tried to hide in the village, were involved in killing two policemen in December 2016.

At night on December 25, 2016, two policemen were shelled on Makhachkala-Kaspiysk highway. One of them died on the spot; the other died in hospital. In the evening on December 29, 2016, in Khasavyurt, Eldar Akamov and Islam Malachev, whom law enforcers also treated as attackers on the policemen, were killed.
