Two natives of Southern Caucasus detained as suspects of attacking policeman in Moscow

Law enforcers have detained two men, suspected of robbing and stabbing a policeman in Moscow in July 2016.

According to investigators, in the evening on July 25, 2016, in the doorway of one of the residential buildings in Bulatnikovskaya   Drive, two men attacked a 48-year-old man, threatening him with a knife and trying to steal his money. A district policeman, who was in the next doorway, reacted to calls for help; and one of the attackers stabbed him in the stomach. Then, the suspects escaped in a car, and the wounded policeman managed himself to reach the police station and call an ambulance.

Both detainees, aged 31-32, arrived from Southern Caucasus.

According to the police, the policeman was stabbed by the 31-year-old man, says the release posted on the website of the Chief Department for Moscow of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

So far, no comments have been made by the detainees or their legal representatives; and it is not specified from what country of Transcaucasia they had arrived.
