Over 101,000 voters are on NKR's referendum lists

The vote on the draft Constitution, which assumes the introduction of the presidential model of governing, will take place both in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) and at its representative office in Yerevan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in March 2016 the NKR's authorities initiated a discussion of the draft Constitution. On January 17, 2017 the majority of MPs supported the referendum on the draft, but the oppositional MPs voted against. On January 19, the NKR's President signed a decree on scheduling the referendum on the draft Constitution for February 20.

On January 20, the sitting of the NKR's Central Election Commission (CEC) announced the start of campaigning for the referendum, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

Srbuhi Arzumanyan, the Chair of the CEC, said at the sitting that the preliminary voters' list contains 101,207 persons, eligible to vote.

The NKR will make 11 constituencies, and voting will be organized at the NKR's representative office in Yerevan, Ms Arzumanyan has added.
