"Caucasian Knot" journalist beaten up in Rostov-on-Don

Five men have attacked Vladislav Ryazantsev, a "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, in central Rostov-on-Don and beat him up in the eyes of his wife and passers-by.

"Right now, in the centre of the city (Sovetov Square), I was attacked by five men with covered faces, who struck my head and knocked me down to the ground. My wife was pushed aside; and then passers-by helped me. I don't know the reason, but they didn't take the money and the phone," the journalist wrote in his Facebook.

The beating occurred after the journalist took video of the "Rostov-Arena" Stadium. There were no policemen nearby, although it all happened near the building of the regional government, said Ryazantsev.

According to his story, they struck him on the head, knocked down to the ground and kicked his side.
