Blogger beaten after his picket in support of sexual minorities in Makhachkala

In the Dagestani capital, unidentified people beat Alexander Sidorov, a blogger from Tomsk, after he had held a solo picket in defence of gay rights. This was reported by the activist himself.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in Makhachkala, Alexander Sidorov, a blogger from Tomsk (aka SiberianGuyRu), held a solo picket. In his hands, he was holding a poster reading: "To hate gays is an unscientific fallacy." Residents of Makhachkala mostly reacted to the picket in the negatively, while users of social networks were surprised by the blogger's act. According to an official of the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), no incidents were registered during the picket.

"I was beaten. Everything is bad. I still do not know what will happen next," Alexander Sidorov wrote on his page in a social network on December 1.

According to him, after his picket, when he was walking in Makhachkala without the poster, he was approached by several people, one of whom wore a mask, and they beat him. The activist notes that staff members of a police station refused to accept his complaint about the offense, the Tomsk "News Agency TV2" reports today.
