Prosecutor's Office states rights violation of colony inmates in Stavropol Territory
The inmates of the colony, located in the village of Kochubeevskoe, Stavropol Territory (known as IK-2), fail to receive the due medical care, are kept in poor conditions and get miserable wages for their work, the prosecutor's office has stated, demanding from the Territorial Department of the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service (known as FSIN) to force the colony bosses to eliminate all the revealed violations.
According to the prosecutor's office, on November 22, Anatoly Bogdanchikov, the Public Prosecutor of the StavropolTerritory, visited the IK-2 of the FSIN for the StavropolTerritory.
"In the course of the check, violations of the law were revealed in providing inmates with due seasonal clothes and footwear; penalty cells have extremely poor natural light; cells require repairs; and inmates fail to receive the proper medical care," says the statement posted today on the website of the Stavropol Territorial Prosecutor's Office.
According to the statement, the check has also revealed that 37.7% of the inmates are employed; however, their wages are very low.
Based on the outcomes of the check, a presentation was directed to the local FSIN boss demanding to eliminate the revealed violations of the law and bring the officials-perpetrators to responsibility.
