In Makhachkala, LDPR activist released from police station

Today, in Makhachkala, Larisa Bachieva, the deputy chair of the Dagestani branch of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR), has been detained while holding a solo picket with the demand for a meeting with Dagestani leader Ramazan Abdulatipov. Two hours later, she was released. The police noted that she had not violated the law, reports the activist.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Larisa Bachieva held several pickets with the demand to provide her with accommodation under the state programme for support of Russian-speaking population and to cancel the results of the elections to the State Duma of the sixth convocation. She was also detained on September 27.

On September 18, there was a voting at the elections to the Russian State Duma and the Dagestani People's Assembly, where the majority was gained by the "Edinaya Rossiya" (United Russia) Party. According to the opposition, numerous violations took place during the elections in Dagestan and that affected the voting results.

The activist has announced her intention to continue protests until she succeeds in arranging a meeting with Ramazan Abdulatipov.
