In Buynaksk, hunger-strikers report on sending materials on electoral violations to Prosecutor's Office

The chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Dagestan has reported on sending the materials on electoral violations to the Prosecutor's Office. This was reported by protestors on hunger strike in Buynaksk. The health state of the hunger-strikers deteriorates; however, they intend to continue their protest action.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 28, supporters and activists of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) declared a hunger strike in Buynaksk. They demand to revise the results of the voting. On October 2, the number of the hunger-strikers decreased to 13 people, since two activists felt bad and stopped their hunger strike. As at October 16, eight protestors are still on hunger strike.

On October 16, Magomed Dibirov, the chairman of the Dagestani CEC, came to the meeting with the participants of the hunger strike in Buynaksk.

According to hunger-striker Kamil Shakhbulatov, Magomed Dibirov did not call them on to stop their protest action.

Meanwhile, hunger-striker Magomedzakir Nurulvaraev complained of a sharp deterioration in his health state.

Earlier, Zakariya Amirov, Mayor of Buynaksk, has described the hunger strike as a "harmful and destabilizing" event. According to the City Mayor, the protesters are trying to divert people's attention from more acute problems.

The hunger strike is aimed to "shake up" the situation in the city, states Makhmud Sultanov, the chairman of the Public Chamber of Buynaksk, as quoted by the "Dagestanskaya Pravda".
