In Astrakhan, pensioners ask to resettle them from dilapidated apartment

Starting from July, in Astrakhan, floor in a municipal apartment in Chekhov Street began to go down. The apartment is permanently flooded by groundwater. This was reported by Shakhmardanov pensioners, tenants of the apartment. They ask the City Mayor's Office to resettle them or at least to make repairs in the apartment. However, the problem has not been solved yet.

Nadezhda Shakhmardanova and Khursud Shakhmardanov live in the one-room apartment of 15 square meters on the ground floor of the two-storey house in No. 51 inChekhov Street in the Leninsky District of Astrakhan, built before 1917. Since then, their apartment building has not been repaired.

The house with the Shakhmardanov family's apartment goes down, and window and door frames are skewed. The spouses claim that the hall in their apartment is permanently flooded by ground water, especially after rains.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has visited the Shakhmardanov family's apartment and noticed that the right corner of the floors has collapsed and a huge hole is visible. When people are walking inside the apartment, the floors are moving.

Nadezhda Shakhmardanova has showed the letters received from the administration in response to her appeals for help.

"We are struggling for help for the third month. I started to raise alarm in July. I've written them that it is dangerous to live there and that our rights to health and safe housing are violated. However, we get only promises and senseless letters from the district administration," said Nadezhda Shakhmardanova.
