Residents of Chechnya report mass violations at elections

In Chechnya, the high voter turnout and the outcomes, desired by the authorities, are ensured thanks to state servants and budget-funded employees, who have to vote as they are ordered under threat of dismissal, residents of the republic told the "Caucasian Knot". According to their stories, already, there is information about ballot-stuffing (throw-in).

Voter turnout in the republic is very high, a member of the Chechen Central Election Commission (CEC) has assured.

In Grozny, nobody even tries to hide numerous violations of the electoral legislation, said Lechi A., a city resident, who visited several areas in the Leninsky district.

"Everywhere the model was the same: people were brought in packs; they dropped the ballot papers and go away; later it turns out that they were employees of some budget-funded organization, who voted for the "Edinaya Rossiya" Party under the command of their boss," he said.

On the eve of the election, a flash mob-relay #I'llgotothepolls was organized in the republic. Participating in the elections for state servants was strictly mandatory, residents of the republic said.

A woman from the village of Chatoi also said that the high voter turnout was ensured by employees of budget-funded organizations.
