Kuban farmers prepare new tractor march to Moscow

On September 14 in Ryazan, at the All-Russian Farmers' Congress, farmers from the Krasnodar Territory and other regions intend to discuss preparations for a new tractor rally to Moscow, said Alexei Volchenko, an activist.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 21 Kuban farmers held a rally in the village of Kazanskaya, opposing the raiders' captures of land plots by huge agricultural holdings; and on the same day they started their tractor rally to Moscow. They were stopped by policemen in the Krasnodar Territory and Rostov Region; many of the activists were fined or arrested for the participation in the action. On September 9, the participants of the tractor rally passed an appeal, listed all their problems, to the Administration of Russia's President.

On September 12, Alexei Volchenko, the leader of the Kuban movement "Polite Farmers", told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that they had received no answer from the Presidential Administration.

According to his story, on September 14, in Ryazan, the all-Russian Farmers' Congress is scheduled, initiated by Vasily Melnichenko, a farmer from the Urals.

At the congress, farmers intend to discuss a new all-Russian tractor rally to Moscow, aiming to draw attention to problems of country's farmers, Mr Volchenko has added.

  • Two natives of Northern Caucasus injured in shootout near “Wildberries” office in Moscow

    A shootout took place near an office of the “Wildberries” Company in the centre of Moscow. As a result, at least one person has been killed and several others have been wounded, sources report.     The Central District Court of Volgograd awarded prisoner Ruslan Mitrofan compensation in the amount of 1000 roubles, recognizing that the administration of a prison hospital in Volgograd violated the prisoner’s right to receive medical care by not providing him with an HIV medicine.
