In Kuban, opposition parties claim facing obstacles in campaigning

In the Krasnodar Territory, on the eve of the single day of voting scheduled for September 18, the pre-election campaign of the "PARNAS" Party has been actually blocked. This was reported by Leonid Zaprudin, the leader of the Krasnodar regional branch of the "PARNAS" Party.

Party members have failed to obtain permission to hold any public event in Krasnodar: they have submitted 14 notifications and all of them were refused, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Leonid Zaprudin.

According to him, for an appropriate pre-election campaign, it is not enough to simply hand out leaflets. The "PARNAS" Party needs to carry out large-scale activities to attract a large number of voters, and the Party is actually deprived of that in the Krasnodar Territory. Leonid Zaprudin has stated that the members of the Party have filed complaints to the Central Election Commission (CEC), the Governor of the Krasnodar Territory; however, till present, nothing has changed.

In his turn, Mikhail Abramyan, the secretary of the Krasnodar regional branch of the "Communists of Russia" Party, has complained about the systematic destruction of the visual agitation materials of the Party.

"We've caught by arms agents of the property management company, who were following our agitators and destroying our visual materials. We have called the police, since there is such an administrative article 'Destruction of campaign materials'; however, by the moment when they have arrived in the place, all of the offenders had already fled," emphasized Mikhail Abramyan.

According to him, posters and leaflets of the "Communists of Russia" Party, placed in specially designated placed, are also regularly destroyed. "Every day we paste the new posters and leaflets; however, they are being destroyed again," noted Mikhail Abramyan.
