On eve of Eid al-Adha, fairs with fixed prices organized in NCFD

In Russia, Muslims complete preparations for the celebration of the holiday of Eid al-Adha. Ingushetia and Dagestan organize special fairs to prevent a sharp rise in prices for food and sacrificial animals.

Eid al-Adha is the Feast of the Sacrifice, which is celebrated 70 days after the holiday of Eid al-Fitr and which falls on the 10th day of the holy month of Dhu al-Hijjah. The feast is celebrated during three days and marks the end of the pilgrimage to Mecca.

In recent years, residents of the regions of Northern Caucasus regularly complained about the rise in prices for food and sheep on the eve of Eid al-Adha.

The Buynaksk District of Dagestan has organized an agricultural fair dedicated to the holiday of Eid al-Adha. The fair presents products of more than 100 producers from different regions of the republic, the Stavropol Territory, and the Rostov Region. At the fair, prices for goods are 20-30% below the market, the RIA "Dagestan" reports.

Magas, the capital of Ingushetia, has organized the fair for sale of sacrificial rams. The fair is opened at the initiative of the authorities to solve the problem of the artificial rise in prices for animals on the eve of Eid al-Adha.

On the eve of the holiday, acting Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has announced that the Foundation named after his father Akhmat Kadyrov purchased more than 60,000 sheep, 100 camels and a large number of cows for poor families. 30,000 sheep purchased by the Akhmat Kadyrov Foundation were delivered to other regions of the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) and the Southern Federal District (SFD), reports the official page of Ramzan Kadyrov on Instagram.
