MIA announces absence of militants in KBR

Today Nalchik has hosted a roundtable dedicated to Solidarity Day in Combating Terrorism, where Kazbek Tatuev, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) made a statement, according to which currently 34 local residents are wanted for involvement in terrorism.

He assured that all of them are outside the republic, in particular, one of them now lives in Georgia; others are in the territories of Ukraine and Abkhazia.

"We also have data that some of the wanted persons were involved in warfare abroad, were killed and buried there," said Mr Tatuev, adding that as of today, according to MIA sources, over a hundred KBR natives are in Syria.

"In the territory of the KBR there are no illegal persons, the so-called members of the bandit underground," the "Interfax" quotes Deputy Minister Tatuev as saying.

Meanwhile, according to the Russian Antiterrorist Committee (NAC), in August, a special operation was held in the KBR, the casualties of which were announced to be militants.

On August 14, the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) announced the neutralization in Kabardino-Balkaria of one of the leaders of the armed underground. According to the NAC, the killed suspect was identified as Khizir Likhov, who was wanted since October of 2014.
