"Legal Initiative" calls on to give out to Chechen woman remains of her son

The remains of Sharpuddin Israilov who disappeared in Chechnya in 2002 were found. However, his mother still has not received them for burial, reports the "Legal Initiative". According to the organization, the Sharpuddin Israilov's mother should also be provided with access to all the materials of the case on her son's death.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in 2009, the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) found the Russian authorities responsible for the inefficient investigation into the disappearance of Sharpuddin Israilov. On December 30, 2002, soldiers detained Sharpuddin Israilov, and on the other day, they took him away to some unknown destination.

The "Legal Initiative" was informed by investigators that the examination held in October 2015 confirmed that the remains of Sharpuddin Israilov had been identified "with the accuracy close to 100%."

The Sharpuddin Israilov's mother has not been given the documents on the investigation into her son's death. She is thus deprived of the opportunity to appeal against the results of the examination in case of her disagreement with them.
