Kuban farmers decide to continue their tractor march to Moscow

Kuban farmers have decided not to go to Krasnodar to meet Veniamin Kondratiev, Governor of the Krasnodar Territory. They intend to continue driving their tractor convoy to Moscow. This was reported by Alexei Volchenko, the leader of the movement "Polite Farmers".

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 21, about 300 farmers gathered for a rally in the Cossack village of Kazanskaya in the Krasnodar Territory. The farmers complained about raiders' seizure of crop areas committed by large agricultural holdings. The farmers decided to hold a run to Moscow; however, on August 22, their march was blocked by the police in the Rostov Region.

According to Alexei Volchenko, the farmers decided not to meet the Governor, but to continue their tractor march to Moscow.

Alexei Volchenko has said that the policemen plan to begin the evacuation of tractors and cars of the protesters from a parking lot near a roadside hotel.

The leader of the farmers' movement has pointed out that even in case if the tractors are evacuated to a car pound, the marchers will wait for the Krasnodar farmers who have already left from different regions of Kuban.

According to Alexei Volchenko, the farmers from the Rostov Region are also driving to the village of Dorozhny in the Rostov Region to support the protesters.
