Victims’ advocate dissatisfied with sentence to Permyakov

The defence and representatives of the Avetisyan family's successors will solve the question of challenging the sentence of Valery Permyakov after they get the judicial act at hands.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the visiting court of first instance of the Shirak Region of Armenia sentenced Valery Permyakov, a regular soldier of the 102nd Russian military base, accused of the murder of seven members of the Avetisyan family in Gyumri, to life imprisonment.

Eduard Agadjanyan, an advocate of Valery Permyakov, has said that he is not aware of where his client will serve his sentence.

According to Migran Pogosyan, an advocate of the victim party, he has expected that the trial will reveal the names of the persons responsible for the crime. Furthermore, the representatives of the Avetisyan family's successors demanded moral compensation for relatives of the Avetisyan family; however, the court dismissed the motion.

Besides, according to the advocate, there are important questions that remain unanswered.

"For example, why Russian officials who knew that Valery Permyakov had no right to bear arms were not brought to justice?" noted Migran Pogosyan.
