In Abkhazia, opposition accuses authorities of failure to comply with principal agreements

Raul Khadjimba has failed to fulfil all the point of the socio-political agreement, which was signed by candidates running for the presidency in 2014. This was stated by Alkhas Kvitsiniya, the leader of the "Amtsakhara" Party. According to Aslan Bzhaniya, President of the "Apra" Foundation, the failure to comply with the agreements has resulted in the collapse of the construction industry. Izida Chaniya, the editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Needed", believes that much of the blame for the situation lies with the Parliament, which hinders the adoption of a number of laws. The authorities have no general concept of reforms, emphasizes historian Beslan Kamkiya.

Alkhas Kvitsiniya, the leader of the political opposition "Amtsakhara" Party, has told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that "the Raul Khadjimba's team destabilized the political situation in the country, seized the power through a coup and was not able to run the state."

Raul Khadjimba repeatedly took part in the elections for the post of the President of the Republic (2004, 2009, and 2011). In August 2014, he won the first round of the presidential election.

According to Alkhas Kvitsiniya, the development of the state demographic programme to be submitted before January 1, 2016, has not even been launched.

The Abkhazian leader has also not started the independent audit of the energy system of Abkhazia to be held within three months from the date of his taking office. The energy systems are deteriorating, and that fact "can result in the energy collapse."

Izida Chaniya, the editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Needed", believes that the reforms promised by Raul Khadjimba do take place, and very actively. Izida Chaniya has noted that, in particular, in June 2015, the Parliament adopted a package of laws on the judicial power.

Beslan Kamkiya believes that the Abkhazian authorities have no general concept of reforms. According to him, the war threw the country into several decades in the past, and Abkhazia thus failed to adopt market economy.
