Suspected militant killed in Dagestan

In the course of the shooting in the Magaramkent District of Dagestan, law enforcers killed a man who was put on the federal wanted list as a member of an illegal armed formation (IAF). This was reported by the regional law enforcement bodies.

"Last night, in the village of Tagirkent-Kazmalyar, fighters of the federal forces asked a man to stop to check his documents. In response, he opened fire on them and was neutralized in a shootout," the "Interfax" reports today with reference to an officer from the regional law enforcement bodies.

According to the source, the killed man has been identified.

"He is identified as Alikber Aliskerov, who was put on the federal wanted list under several Articles of the Criminal Code for involvement in subversive and terrorist activities," stated the source.
