Dagestani MP wanted in case of beating policeman

Djamal Kasumov, a deputy of the National Assembly of Dagestan, is wanted on suspicion of beating policeman Shamil Magomedrasulov. This was reported by a source from the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

According to the source, on August 8, Shamil Magomedrasulov was beaten at the "50 Years of October" Park in Makhachkala.

"Djamal Kasumov, a world champion in kickboxing, a deputy of the National Assembly of Dagestan, inflicted bodily injuries to Police Captain Shamil Magomedrasulov, an operative staff member of the Department for Economic Security and Anti-Corruption of the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by a source from the Dagestani MIA.

According to the source, Djamal Kasumov "has fled the scene and is wanted."

Shamil Magomedrasulov stays in the hospital. According to his colleague, the victim is diagnosed with brain concussion. "We have the information that Shamil Magomedrasulov was engaged in the inspection of financial and economic activities of one of the companies controlled by Djamal Kasumov," the source has added.

Djamal Kasumov works as the deputy director of the company "Transenergo", a branch of the "Russian Railways", the "Transenergo" website reports.
