Ninth defendant declared wanted in case of Vladimir Tskaev's death

An officer of the Vladikavkaz police has been put on the federal wanted list on the charge in absentia of involvement in the death of Vladimir Tskaev, a local resident.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Vladimir Tskaev died at night of November 1, 2015, after an interrogation at the Iriston OVD (Interior Division). According to his relatives, he was subjected to torture. Six policemen were detained in the case of the death of Vladimir Tskaev, and the North Ossetian Minister of Internal Affairs resigned after the incident. On July 9, the Investigating Committee announced the arrest of two other policemen in the case of the Vladimir Tskaev's death.

A criminal case has been instituted against a 27-year-old police captain, a field investigator of the OVD of the Department for Vladikavkaz of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), under Article "abuse of power with use of violence." The criminal case is combined in a single proceeding with the case of the Vladimir Tskaev's death, reports the press-service of the Investigating Department for North Ossetia of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

The defendant escaped from the investigators, and he was charged in absentia.

The expertise carried out in Moscow has produced an unequivocal conclusion that the Vladimir Tskaev's death was caused by beatings. This was reported by Vazha Djusoev, the chief of the department for investigation of particularly important cases of the ICRF's Department for North Ossetia. According to Vazha Djusoev, when Vladimir Tskaev was brought to the MIA's Department for Vladikavkaz, he was in good health.
