Supporters of "Sasna Tsrer" state switchover to civil disobedience

Today, by estimates of organizers, a rally in support of "Sasna Tsrer" gathered in Yerevan about 1500 participants.

Since July 17, members of the "Constituent Parliament" are keeping captured the building of a police regiment in Yerevan, demanding resignation of President, formation of the interim government and release of all political prisoners, including their leader Zhirair Sefilyan.

The participants of the rally have blamed the government for "incompetence both in domestic and foreign policies." As an example, they cited the April War in Nagorno-Karabakh, which led to casualties and victims.

The demonstrators have stated their intent to start actions of civil disobedience.

They plan to hold daily actions and bring into the streets more and more people, David Sanasaryan, a member of the Yerevan Council of Elders, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Activists decided to meet again in Freedom Square in the evening on July 29. They start holding peaceful disobedience actions.

  • Two natives of Northern Caucasus injured in shootout near “Wildberries” office in Moscow

    A shootout took place near an office of the “Wildberries” Company in the centre of Moscow. As a result, at least one person has been killed and several others have been wounded, sources report.   • In Volgograd, court recognizes absence of HIV therapy in prison hospital

    The Central District Court of Volgograd awarded prisoner Ruslan Mitrofan compensation in the amount of 1000 roubles, recognizing that the administration of a prison hospital in Volgograd violated the prisoner’s right to receive medical care by not providing him with an HIV medicine.
