On July 23, Rostov-on-Don hosted a sanctioned picket in protest against criminal proceedings against Valentina Cherevatenko, the leader of the "Union 'Women of Don'". According to the organizers of the picket, the event was attended by about 15 people.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 24, investigators seized documents from the office of the "Union 'Women of Don'". On June 27, the advocate of Valentina Cherevatenko got a resolution on the institution of a criminal case against the human rights defender on fraudulent evasion of the duties specified by the Russian law on non-commercial organizations, performing functions of foreign agents.

Sonya Moshiyan, the wife of activist Boris Baty, who had to leave Russia for Germany, became one of the participants of the protest action.
