Police building seized in Armenia

Today, a regiment of the patrol-and-security service of the Armenian police has been attacked in Yerevan. The people inside the building were taken hostage.

The attackers who seized the police station are armed, and negotiations with them are underway. This was announced by the National Security Service of Armenia.

The responsibility for the attack was claimed by members of the opposition "Constituent Parliament", who demanded to release political prisoners, including their leader Zhirair (Jirair) Sefilyan.

One policeman was killed, and two others were wounded as a result of the seizure of the police building in Yerevan. Besides, two oppositionists were also wounded. This was reported by Pavel Manukyan, a participant of the attack. Meanwhile, according to Pavel Manukyan, the shootout was initiated by law enforcers.

"They started shooting on us, and we also responded," he said.

In turn, the police reported on one killed and three wounded law enforcers.
