Azerbaijan: oppositionists state disappearance of activist

For two weeks already, there is no information about the fate of activist Khagani Nasirov, the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA) has reported. Oppositionists assume that he could be detained after his publications of critical collages addressed to the country's authorities in social networks.

The fact that from June 23 there is no information on the whereabouts of Khagani Nasirov was reported by Gezyal Bayramly, the Deputy Chair of the PFPA. According to her story, on June 29 the Facebook page of the group "Susma" (Don't be silent!) posted a photo collage, depicting Khagani, cleaning a toilet.

"The photo collage is published under the title 'King of insults and abuse of social networks Khagani Nasirov'. We have a strong belief that the police has intercepted a page with protest content, because now the above page contains only positive information about the police," Ms Bayramly told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, adding that, according to the photo collage, Khagani could be placed into the isolation facility for administrative prisoners.

She believes that the reason for Nasirov's persecution could be his sharp posts on the Facebook addressed to the country's leadership, accompanied by caricatures and collages.
